How to Recover Clash of Clans account?

How-to recover or unlock your Clash of Clans account

The ultimate guide to recover your Clash of Clans account in 2024:

Last year, supercell added a new option named “Account Protection“. By enabling this feature, no one else no longer can recover your Clash of Clans account without your permission.

So it is highly recommended to turn on this feature right now if you already didn’t.

In case you didn’t turn it on and now your account is recovered by another person, or it is locked for any reason, read this article to the end, I will help you step by step to fix your account even if you don’t remember anything about your lost Clash of Clans account.

Tip1: This guide works for other Supercell games besides the Clash of Clans too. That means with this guide, you can unlock or recover Brawl Stars, Clash Royale, or Boom Beach accounts too.

Tip2: Supercell tends to change the appearance and name of buttons in the help & support section frequently, but the recovery steps and the whole process don’t change a lot. We will update this post whenever Supercell makes an important change.

What you will learn:

I will divide this article into two sections:

I’m going to allocate the first section to guide you to recover your lost account or disconnect someone else access to it.

The first section itself is also divided into two parts, The first part is for those who don’t have any information about their lost COC account. (Shorter method)

In the second part, I will guide players who remember and have all the information about their accounts that may Supercell ask them. (Longer method)

By information, I mean the date of creation of your account, all previous names of your account, screenshots from the first in-game purchase, the city, and the country where your account is created, etc.

In the Second section of this post, I’m going to tell you how to unlock your locked account.

Whether you have all the needed information (Longer process) about your account or have zero information about it (Shorter process).

How to Recover your Clash of Clans account?

According to Supercell, If you still have access to your account but someone else also has access to it, and you want to disconnect him, you have to request to recover your account.

In this case, you can recover it whether you have all the needed account information (As I said, like all previous names of your account) that Supercell will ask you, or without any information.

Also, if someone else recovered your account and you no longer have access to it, again you need to contact supercell support and ask them to recover it for you.

If you get an error like the picture below while logging into your account, that means it is recovered or stolen.

For this scenario, you will be able to recover the account only if you have answers to all the Supercell questions that I mentioned before.

The ultimate guide to recover your Clash of Clans account with information:

This recovery process usually takes a few hours, sometimes a few days, depending on how busy supercell supports are. (Later in this post, I will guide you the other way to recover your account under 2 minutes.)

To begin, you need to create a fresh COC account and then contact supercell support from inside it.

Never try to recover your lost account inside your other account, because it may get banned by supercell support for 31 days or even permanently as a result, this way you will lose your both accounts.

That is why I say only contact supercell support inside a fresh (Level 0) account.

How to contact supercell support?

First of all, you need to know how to contact supercell support inside the game to ask them to unlock your account or recover it.

Inside the fresh COC account, click on the “Help and Support” button.

On the next page, click on the blue bubble and choose “Lost account” to go to the next page.

Now, fill in the asked information like the picture below.

It asked you to write the name of your account, its player tag, its Town Hall level, and the name of your clan. However, It is not mandatory to enter the name of your clan.

On this page, it asks you to describe to them what has happened to your account and how you lost it.

To answer this section, you can simply tell them your story, like “Someone hacked my Clash of Clans account a few days ago and I no longer have access to it” or “Another person is playing with my account, please help me to disconnect his access”.

Important TIP: Only try to contact support with the same device you used to play with. For example, If you played with your iPhone, don’t use other devices because Supercell will check the model of the device you contacted them with, and if it is different, they won’t accept to recover your account.

Then, you need to wait about 20-30 minutes sometimes a few hours, so a real agent will message you like the picture below and you will be asked to provide information about your account.

As you can see in the picture above, the agent asked you to name the model of all devices that you played with.

In our experience, you need to mention 80-100% of devices correctly to get approval from the agent.

In the next question, he asked me to write the previous name of the account for him.

To get approval, you need to mention all names or give the agent a close guess for any of the previous names that you can’t recall.

You must answer all of his questions as accurately as you can, so he will accept to recover your account.

If you don’t answer any of his questions completely, they may reject your recovery request or may ask you some additional questions to make sure you are the real owner of the account.

For example, if the agent asks you to name the model of all the devices that you have played with, and you forget to mention some models, they may reject your appeal.

So, try your best to answer all questions completely to increase your chance.

According to my experience, some agents get it easier and even if you answer 70-80% of questions correctly, they would accept to recover your account, but some agents are strict.

So I recommend if you fail to recover your Clash of Clans account on the first attempt, don’t give up and try it several times until you find a good agent that helps you.

Now, if the agent accepts your appeal, it will ask you to provide a fresh Gmail to link your account to it. Don’t forget that you need to enter the Gmail address twice.

In the end, you need to wait whatever it takes, from a few minutes up to a few hours, so the agent will come back to you and tell you that your recovery process is done.

Important Tip: When the agent messages you that he successfully recovered your Clash of Clans account, don’t close the chat. First, try to log in to your account with the new Gmail to make sure everything is ok, then close the chat.

I recommend this because sometimes agents forget to unlock your COC account and when you try to log in to the account with the new Gmail, you may face with a locked account. (I experienced it myself several times)

If this happened to you, don’t worry, you can follow the steps I wrote later in this post about how to unlock request to unlock your account.

The Ultimate guide to recover your Clash of Clans account without any information:

This recovery process is almost instant, you don’t need either to wait for an agent to help you or answer any question, and it only takes about 1-2 minutes.

In case someone else has access to your Clash of Clans account, and you want to disconnect his unauthorized access, you need to follow this recovery process.

Tip: Please note that simply changing the Gmail address of the account with the option inside settings like the picture below, won’t cut the other person’s access.

If you have access to both your Gmail address and your account, you can easily recover your COC account, without providing any information or answering any of the agent’s questions to recover it.

Before we start, go check whether “Account Protection” for the account is enabled or not. If it is not enabled, make sure to enable it first before starting to recover it.

How to enable Clash of Clans Account Protection?

To enable Account Protection of any account, you need two things. First, access to the Gmail of the account and second, a phone number.

You can find the “Account Protection” feature inside the game under supercell settings, like below:

Click on “ACTIVATE”, after that supercell will send a verification code to the Gmail address linked to the account. Enter that verification code, then save the three recovery codes in a safe place.

These Supercell recovery codes are important, in case you don’t have access to your phone number, you will be able to use these codes to recover your COC account.

Next, write your phone number and enter the verification code sent to your number, to enable Account Protection.

Now, that you are sure that the “Account Protection” option is enabled, follow these steps to recover your account:

First, you need to contact supercell support from inside the COC account that you want to recover. To do this first click on the “Help and Support” button.

Next, click on the blue button at the top-right of the page.

Now, choose the “Leave a Message” button like the screenshot below.

Like the picture below, First, choose “Login and Supercell ID issues”, then Click on “Recover my account”.

Now O.T.T.O (or Sparky), the Supercell support bot, will ask you to write the player tag, name of the account, Town Hall level, and name of your clan (If it is inside any clan).

If the account is not inside any clan, you can simply answer: “no clan”

Once you entered this info, click on “Continue”.

After that, O.T.T.O. will ask you to enter the last 4 digits of the phone number that you used to enable Account Protection.

Then, it will send a verification through SMS to your number. Enter the verification code and again click on “Continue”.

Now, it asks you to write the new Gmail address that you want to play with, twice.

Once you enter the new Gmail address twice, a Supercell verification code will be sent to the new Gmail. When you enter the code there, you will get a message like this picture below

Congratulations, now your COC account has been successfully recovered. You don’t need to click on “Continue” again, just close the Clash of Clans app and you are done!

Right now, you can try to log in to your account with the new Gmail.

So, this way you can recover your Clash of Clans account without providing any information to Supercell support.

Warning: As I said, Don’t Click on “Continue” again, if you click on it, they will lock your account and an agent will come to you and will ask some questions about your account to unlock it.

How to unlock your locked COC account:

Whether you have all the information I mentioned like the date of creation of your account, the first purchase screenshot, or even if you don’t have any information about it, I’m going to help you unlock your Clash of Clans account like a piece of cake.

Step by step, unlocking your account with information:

The unlocking process of your account, using this method, usually takes a few hours. But I know another method to unlock your account that I’m going to tell you later in this post which is quite faster.

When your COC account is locked, you will face the picture below:

So in case your account is locked, and you have all the needed information, follow the steps below:

First, you need to click on the “Help and Support” button to get redirected to the support page.

Now, you need to answer all the questions that the agent asks.

Tip: Sending a screenshot from your first in-game purchase (from its receipt) is very important, without this screenshot, you almost have zero chance to unlock or recover your account. You can find this receipt and the history of your purchases in your App Store or Google Play Store account.

Step by step, unlocking your account without any information:

This unlocking process takes about 5-10 minutes. Not only it is faster, but it also lets you do it without providing any information to supercell agents.

Sometimes you don’t remember all the information about your account. For instance, you may have changed the name of your account 4–5 times in the past.

Now, when Supercell asks you to remember them, it would be quite difficult to recall in case you have more than one account.

Sometimes the COC account that is locked is not made by yourself from the beginning.

Maybe you bought it or received it from a friend, and you don’t have answers to the questions that Supercell may ask you.

Tip: When answering this question you don’t necessarily need to be 100% accurate you can give the support a close guess. For instance, if one of the previous names of your account was “JackBlack2000” you can tell them you are not sure, but it was like jack2000 or something close to it.

Attention: Never tell Supercell support that you have bought the account, or you received it as a gift from a friend. Because transferring or selling accounts is against Supercell policy, they will ban your account permanently.

In each of these scenarios, you need to follow the steps below to unlock your account:

In the beginning, you need to create another account with the same Gmail address. For example, if your Clash of Clans account is locked, you need to create a Clash Royale, brawl stars, or any other Supercell game accounts with the same Gmail address as your locked Clash of Clans account.

Let’s say you created a new Clash Royale account, and your locked COC account is linked to Supercell ID with this example Gmail address:

[email protected]

Now, you need to link that fresh royale account to Supercell with the same Gmail address that your locked COC account is connected, which is again:

[email protected]

Next, turn on the “Account Protection” option in Clash Royale.

Tip: If you already have a Clash Royale account with the same Gmail address, you only need to turn on its account protection.

Follow the steps below carefully in order to unlock your locked Clash of Clans account:

Inside the locked COC account, first, Click on the “Help and Support” button, next, Click on “See All topics” then choose “Others”. In the end, write to their support robot (O.T.T.O) that “My account is locked, I want to unlock it”.

Now, O.T.T.O. will ask you to provide the last 4 digits of the phone number with which you turned on “account protection” of the Clash Royale account.

Then Supercell will send an SMS verification code to that mobile phone number, you need to type it there and click on “Continue”.

Now it will ask you to type a new Gmail address twice for it. Once you enter the new Gmail address for the second time, don’t click on “Continue” again.

Close the Clash of Clans app and again go to your Clash Royale account, this time with the new Gmail address, and again, turn on its “account protection” because it is disabled again.

Once again, go back to your locked account and click on “Continue”.

You need to wait for a while ( up to 24-48 hours ) in order for a supercell agent to come and reply.

If after one or two days no one answers you, write another message and tell them you are waiting for their reply.

Now, your locked Clash of Clans account is transferred to the new Gmail address and no longer is locked! That is awesome, right?

If you follow this guide carefully, you can recover your account on your own. But in case you need any help from us to recover or unlock your account, feel free to contact us through our live chat, social app, and Email address. We are ready to help you.
